Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, initially known simply as Cheddar’s, is an American restaurant chain that emphasizes made-from-scratch dishes at an affordable price. Founded by Aubrey Good and Doug Rogers in 1979, the first location opened in Arlington, Texas. The founders aimed to create a unique dining experience by offering homemade quality food in a casual dining atmosphere. Over the years, Cheddar’s has expanded across the United States, gaining a reputation for its comfort food, large portions, and welcoming environment. In 2017, Darden Restaurants, a major restaurant operator known for owning several other national chains, acquired Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, further solidifying its presence in the American casual dining scene.
